What We Covered
If March’s Profits & Pints was about pricing with confidence, April was all about backing that price up with a powerful marketing strategy that attracts the right clients and guides them from discovery to decision.
We introduced the MAP Framework (Marketing Action Plan), a simple yet powerful structure designed to take the guesswork out of marketing and help business owners focus on what actually drives results.
“Marketing isn’t about being everywhere. It’s about being in the right place, with the right message, for the right people.”
The MAP Framework: 5 Core Steps
Here’s how attendees used the framework to develop a clear, custom-fit strategy for their business:
1. Market – Who Are You Talking To?
Define your ideal client, not just their demographics, but their needs, struggles, and what they value most.
📌 Tip: Focus your marketing on one core audience at a time. Clarity here creates traction everywhere else.
2. Message & Funnel – How Are You Guiding Them?
We mapped out simple 3-stage funnels to nurture trust and guide customers toward a core offer.
Workshop Funnel Format:
Lead Magnet (Free): A checklist, webinar, or resource
Entry Offer (Low-Barrier): A paid audit, intro session, or trial
Core Offer: Your main product or service
🧠 Real-World Example:Jeff, an HVAC contractor, built his funnel around:
A Property Maintenance Checklist (lead magnet)
A $249 System Audit (entry offer)
A full Service Contract (core offer)
3. Money – What Can You Invest?
Attendees calculated their client lifetime value (LTV) and created budgets that aligned with real revenue potential.
Example LTV Formula:(Average Monthly Revenue × Retention in Months) – Cost to Serve = LTV
🎯 If you want 20 clients and can spend $395 to acquire each one, your marketing budget becomes $7,900, with clarity and confidence.
4. Methods – Where Will You Show Up?
Instead of chasing every platform, we helped business owners select 2–3 aligned tactics based on their ideal clients and communication style.
Three Strategy Categories:
Visibility & Awareness (Google Ads, speaking, LinkedIn video)
Engagement & Relationship (checklists, nurture emails, Q&A sessions)
Conversion & Retention (entry offers, onboarding, testimonials)
🧩 Jeff’s Chosen Methods:
Google Ads for urgent searchers
Email outreach with tools for credibility
LinkedIn videos to build trust in the B2B space
5. Metrics – How Will You Know It’s Working?
We wrapped up with a look at real KPIs to track at every stage of the funnel from awareness to retention.
📊 Examples:
Ad impressions, CTR, and cost per lead
Email open and click rates
Funnel conversions (lead magnet → entry offer → core offer)
Client LTV and referral rates
✅ The takeaway: Don’t track everything. Just track the numbers that drive decisions.
Workshop Exercise: Build Your MAP
Using the worksheet, participants sketched their own MAP:
Clear ideal client profile
Simple 3-stage funnel
Custom-fit tactics
Rough budget
Focused metrics
This gave them a tangible plan they could implement that same week.
